Pardon me if I’m wrong, but where did I say “white privilege” doesn’t exist? I am pretty sure I acknowledged it exists. Now, do I think I deserve “white privilege”? No. I don’t. In fact, I think the notion of “white privilege” is fucking disgusting because it pretty much is. It sections off human beings based on a characteristic they can’t control.

And that’s atrocious. I’m sure you agree.

Now - let’s talk about the acronym “POC.” “POC” automatically lumps every single person who doesn’t identify themselves as white into one demographic. If we’re insisting that my life experience isn’t the same as, say, someone who just so happens to be of Korean descent because of “privilege,” are we to assume that the Korean individual’s life is the same as a black person’s? As a Chinese person’s?

I don’t know - it seems like generalizing is something the term “POC” tends to do. Which is, of course, a form of racism. At least in my book.

Now let’s talk about your tidbit about “fuck off and die.” Was that necessary? I felt like it was a little gratuitous and a tad too aggressive. How would you feel if I went up to you after you spoke your opinion on something controversial like abortion and I asked you to “fuck off and die”? I don’t know about you, but I would probably think to myself “Pfft. Okay.”

Fortunately, I’m not closed minded. I heard what you have to say. Hopefully you’ve heard what I have to say. And even if we disagreed with one another, at least we listened. And that’s a sign of progress.
