Do ya wanna funk?
Won’t ya tell me how?
If ya wanna funk, let me show ya how.
Do ya wanna funk with me?
The last time someone told me to “brighten up,” I turned into a disco ball and played groovy tunes. #True stories about Zach Eser.

The Rapture, How Deep is Your Love (Irregular Disco Workers remix).
(by .ultraviolett)
For some reason, images like this make me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
It’s like I’m home for the very first time.
YACHT x LCD Soundsystem, Yeah - Tripped and Fell in Love.
So, I know I post a lot about DFA Records, James Murphy, and LCD Soundsystem. However, this remix is really fucking good. This is a mash-up called Yeah - Tripped and Fell in Love by DJ Dave Wrangler. And it’s awesome.
Dance.
Sylvester, Do You Wanna Funk.
Let me tell you a story about my life and this song.
Once upon a time, I went to Virgin Mobile Freefest where I got to see one of my idols, James Murphy, play a DJ set in the “Dance Forest” section of the festival. I was there with a college buddy and we danced and danced and danced with no cares in the world - just moving and grooving with other bodies who were just as glad to be there as we were. And it was orgasmic (I think we were within 15 feet of the stage at all times).
Anyways, James Murphy is a huge fan of disco and the 80s. If it’s not obvious to you if you listen to LCD Soundsystem, it will be made very clear to you in his DJ set. So we danced and danced and danced the night away to various disco edits and loops courtesy of James Murphy and his wealth of knowledge.
About two months later, I was sitting in a WGSX class. For those of you who don’t know, WGSX is short for Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies. It’s essentially feminism. We were watching this film about gay black culture called Tongues Untied - an independent documentary - when all of a sudden…BAM! This song came on. And it was familiar. I recognized it from somewhere.
James Murphy introduced me to it.
Cool story, bro. Should I tell it again?
I left my love on the dance floor.
And my blood, my sweat, and my tears.
I will forever be in a lucid love affair with this band.
